A new year, a new reel of movies making their way to your local cinema. But what to watch? I say all of them. At least there are more than 50 movies that i considered as ‘great movies’ this year. However… since it’ll cost me a watch to see all of them.. I’ve compiled a lookahead of 15 of this year’s best movies.

Some of the screen’s greatest icons are back in 2006, from James Bond to Superman. And for those of you who simply detest change, there’s a heap of sequels; from X-Men 3 to Pirates Of The Caribbean 2. Yeap, there are also remakes, adaptations and CGIs!

Be grateful, be very grateful. Prepare a note book and start to write in your agenda:

1. V for Vendetta (March 17)
2. Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (March 30)
3. Silent Hill (April 21)
4. Mission: Impossible: 3 (May 5)
5. Poseidon (May 12)
6. The Da Vinci Code (May 19)
7. X-Men 3 (May 26)
8. Superman Returns (June 30)
9. Pirates of the Carribean 2: Dead Man’s Chest (July 7)
10. Miami Vice (July 28)
11. The Eye (August 25)
12. Marie Antoinette (October 13)
13. Casino Royale (November 17)
14. Eragon (December 15)
15. Charlotte’s Web (December 20)

The most anticipated movie of 2006’s poll on www.mtvasia.com:

1. Superman Returns (14.6%)
2. Mission: Impossible: 3 (13.1%)
3. The Da Vinci Code (31.8%)
4. Underworld: Evolution (8.7%)
5. X-Men 3 (31.8%)

Well well well… guest what? The Da Vinci Code and X-Men 3 plus Eragon are also my most anticipated movie of 2006. What’s yours?
